  1. Yes we are alive and kicking!

This is a routine maintenance release that catches up to the latest plugin changes implemented in DC++ by Crise and a few other general fixes. While we're migrating over to using DC++ maintained plugins there are two plugin files offered for download. The traditional plugins are still available and the new LuaPlugin is renamed to ScriptPlugin; you can find both of them here.

A list of changes have been published and we are expanding our private testing group for 2.0. Expect to see another post regarding recruitment for this very soon.

  2. Hello Lee,

I don't know how to use DC++. Is it possible to learn it in ApexDC, and use it as for File Sharing to download? If that is possible, may you please explain step by step how I could do this, and setting it up?

Thank you for your help! I'll be keeping an eye out for more replies.

What specific issues are you having?

I guess you've connected to a hub and all you need to do from there is search for files.

  3. Hey all,

I see 1.5.5 is posted on SourceForge ... anyone have a change log?

    Hey!

You can check out the release topic here, it's currently only available to registered members. We wish to release this publicly in a week or so depending on if any major bugs are reported. :)

We are in the process of mailing our members to inform them of this.

  4. You can delete any downloads from download queue (ctrl+D),

That is not really what he asked.

is it possible to implement slow downloads kick? When downloading filelists, it's very annoying when u have slow (300 Bytes e.g.) downloads ...

Kick the user from hub or just disconnect them from a transfer? The latter is available in the program already, so I guess you mean kick... I'd prefer not to implement that.

  5. Ah yes, although TBH after looking at that it reminds me - is there a comprehensive help file or guide to all the settings? An app like this sure needs a help file for people not familiar with the exact implications of each setting change.

It is on the list for the new site. :)

  6. 1) What is the use of Priority = Paused exactly? Is it different from a Stopped state, as in uTorrent where Paused retains peer connections whereas Stopped doesn't? If not, then why not replace Paused with Stopped in Apex, and then have nice Start/Stop buttons on the toolbar?

Anybody else feel this is worthwhile to do? Paused is exactly what it means.

    2) When viewing a user's file list, the context menus for files have a "Download with priority" option, so that I can add a file to my list but for example set it to Paused since I don't want to download it right away. Why isn't the same option available for search results as well? Why can't I right-click a file returned as a search result, and download with the priority of my choosing?

Nice observation. If there is no immediate issues with adding this, we can pop it on the todo list.

    3) Double-clicking a file in a user's list or in the search results always seems to add it to the download list with an initial "Low (Auto)" priority. Can't we have an option to specify a default file add priority somewhere?

There are priority settings under Settings > Queue if you want to mess about with those.

  7. Hey DNM,

I have just checked to see if you've been banned by our server firewall, but this isn't the case. Are you using a proxy to access the Internet or with Apex itself?

  8. We are pleased to announce 1.5.4 to the public. This is a routine maintenance release that includes bug fixes and a few updates. Although there are plugins fixes, you don't need to update them directly (the previous version for 1.5.3 will work).

You should be notified of the update in your client within the next few days or you can download it straight away from the link below.

  9. Nice, you dev guys really look into every small aspect of this great software :)

It was touch and go as to whether or not this affected us, but we just wanted to be sure and protect our users. All I can say is wait till we unveil 2.0, as we are pushing new code almost daily. :)
