  1. I had apexDC++ version 1.5.5 and got the mandatory message. So I got the last version (1.5.11) and successfully installed it. But I could not run the application because I got the following error:

ApexDC.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

So I decided to try the previous version (1.5.10), same error with that one too. I managed to put back my old version (1.5.5), no error here, but I'm not able to runt the program because of the "mandatory upgrade". So, what advice do you have for me? :)

    What OS are you running?

  2. We have been testing 1.5.10 for a month now to try and resolve the startup issues users faced with 1.5.9. We're pleased to announce 1.5.10 fixes this issue and a host of other issues. We have merged with DC++ to include new search and hash changes - we have included a conversion tool that will automatically migrate your share to the new hash database where compatible. Only Windows XP users may need to rehash their share due to the old WinAPI (you guys have till April 2014 to upgrade).

When you first start 1.5.10 you will see a new splash screen indicator displaying your conversion progress to the new hash database (should take 10-20 minutes on first run). This was inevitable as DC++ changed their hash database to version 3 a while ago and was causing our users issues with filelists.

1.5.10 is considered stable and we highly recommend users on previous versions to upgrade (especially 1.5.9).

  3. That is indeed excessive. After looking into it, It will keep trying to contact the update server more often if it fails to reach it. We will fix that in the next version. :)

The reason the update check server has changed a few times is simply due to server load and optimisation. We initially had it on our web server but this caused major issues when we were being DDoS'ed, so we decided to offload that back to SourceForge.

  4. Just in time for the holidays we have reached 11 million worldwide downloads recorded by SourceForge.

We have had plenty going on this year including >opening up 2.0 development for Mac OS X and continuing to maintain our 1.x branch. We plan to release 1.5.9 shortly with a new protocol extension to help migrate users from an existing NMDC hub to the ADC protocol. You can already check out the latest >1.5.9 Beta on our forums.

In the mean time enjoy the snow and have some fun with the family - Happy Holidays! :)

The program will not run. It has ,then stooped. I reloaded with no change, Dialog says its looking for a solution and I think once or twice it gave me a debug choice, but here was no change. Firewall is set to allow.

Make sure you're using the correct binary. If you're on XP, you need to use the XP binaries. Try this first and get back to me.

  6. I have purged a few accounts that haven't been active.

    Hi!

i have been using DC++ on windows .... recently bought a mac, frustrated that it doesn't have any good DC client ><
searched google and found this , the best at the moment!

i am in a college and we heavily relay on DC for sharing data on LAN!! (50gb per person per day! almost (movies tv shows games etc etc everything is shared on LAN ))

currently using shakespeer but it's quite buggy (downloads wont resume sometimes and when finished wont move to completed folder small bugs.. and not to mention it hasent updated in a while (4 years  :P ))

Would LOVE to try this out!!! (actually made this account just to express my interest!)

Of course Massi. Welcome to the team. :)

  8. We have published a 1.5.8 Beta with the intention of making it final/stable if no show stopping bugs are reported. There's a new feature that shows you the correct percentage of a file an uploader is requesting off you, which helps determine their ETA to finish the download. Previously we displayed the upload chunk size and feel this is a more accurate approach. Please note that this will only take effect between 1.5.8 users and later - so get updating ;)

Any mandatory updates now use the update check window to notify you and we have done further backend improvements.

  10. Hi this updates are.... always when is new version or this error I can use Client even options to move all settings on new version themes... client is closed I can search, join on hubs... I mandatory to update it but this is not ok sometimes I have no time or... and I cant even use DC++ :(

Some friends are only for idle on my hub and they not know how to use DC++ in this case I install RSX++ because you can disable search for new version... but on ApexDC++ I could not find these settings...

Yeah, we don't want people to stay on outdated versions; staying up to date keeps users and the network safe. Of course you can setup what program you prefer, but not sure why you're offering them a project that is not maintained and is tailored towards Operators if they don't know how to use DC++. :)

  11. I've clicked on the link given by you and downloaded the installer again. But the problem persists..

It's possible that the mirror you're using has updated itself yet. Try selecting a different mirror rather than it automatically doing it for you. Try this UK mirror for example and let me know how it goes.

  12. I've installed the new update twice and whenever I try clicking on the DC icon on my desktop, it still says update to new version. When i updated the version, it even takes me a page that says I've successfully updated the newest version. Even tried restarting my PC, but the problem persists.

Please help at the earliest. I'm using Windows 7

Please redownload the installer again. You're using an older mirror/installer that is blacklisted.
