You search for alternates dozens of times and nothing happens.
Only 1 user has the album / TV series you want and he will not grant you a slot or the speed is extremely slow...
Automatic search for alternates gets you only 1 or 2 tracks downloaded.

Here is what to do:

1. make sure you have checked "Automatically search for TTH alternates every X minutes" in queue settings

2. in Advanced settings select "Don't delete file lists when exiting"


3. Enable DHT in advanced settings.


Get in a hub with A LOT of users.
Leave dc to do its job with TTH alternates. It should find at least one.
Open finished downloads and look if a track from the album you want has been downloaded.

Get that users file list and in the file menu select "Match downloaded lists".

That should do the trick (works for me )

also proven a good tactic:

accumulate file lists from all the "big players" (few 100 GB or even few TB of share) and share bots in your hubs.

eventually, they will come in handy.

how do you keep the lists you want but delete the once that you do not want?

Then it's no worth implementing this, because only minimum users will enable it and it won't change anything. Such small amount users can be easily found in hubs and it brings nothing to finding sources.

Imagine what happens:
Let's say that 10000 users will use ApexDC++, but only 2000 of them knows what DHT is (I have found only very small amount of users who knows that) and only 500 of them will enable it. And to have it due to only 500 users? It's absolutely meaningless.

Best option, in the meantime will be disabled by default though.

10,000 users? Don't be so pessimistic.
